Southern Prohibition Brewing is located in Downtown Hattiesburg, MS just an hour and a half from New Orleans and one hour from the Gulf Coast.

In our 5 years of operation we’ve expanded our distribution footprint to include much of the Southeast, with the capacity to grow well into the future. We currently produce 5 core brands, a multitude of seasonal products and one offs, as well as a growing sour and barrel-aging program.

We are looking for a brewer to take on our existing portfolio, grow with it and add to it. Our ideal brewer will come with experience in hand for the entire brewing process, and ready to take command of the brew deck and production process. Our brewer will work directly with our Director of Operations to develop our team and fine tune recipes and technique throughout the facility. This person will also have the skills necessary to be the go-to for troubleshooting throughout our production process. 

Southern Prohibition’s long-term vision is to be 100% employee owned, lead by a group of like-minded people that push for targeted perfection in product and process. Our new brewer must not only have the mindset that they are responsible for brewing, but for the cultivation and evolution of our culture, alongside the entire crew.

Job Requirements

            The ideal candidate will have the following assets:

  • 3 years brewing experience in a production brewery
  • In-depth knowledge of brewery lab procedures, QA/QC, yeast handling
  • Knowledge of barrel aging, souring, and cask conditioning techniques
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Formal brewing education preferred
