WILD AND WOOD SERIES

Wild & Wood encompasses all brews from Southern Prohibition that touch wood in either the fermentation, aging or souring process. Wild & Wood is a program developed to push our skills, test our patience and offer unique and classic flavors to our customers. We hope you seek and enjoy these small batches as you can.

  • BARLEY LEGAL | BARREL AGED ENGLISH STYLE BARLEYWINE ALE

Barleywines are one of the strongest and most intense styles of ale available. Barley Legal is Southern Prohibition Brewing’s English style Barleywine Ale and the first of its kind. It is Mississippi’s first barleywine and Southern Prohibition’s first beer in our barrel series. It is also the first beer we’ve brewed with intentions of selling in our home state but were unable to due to our current alcohol by volume cap (10.2% ABV). Aged in both bourbon and rye whiskey barrels then blended, this beautiful beer crosses state lines in our hand stamped, hand labeled and individually waxed bottles. Whether you consume now or lay it down for aging, we hope you enjoy this flavorful ale as much as we do.

  • HIPSTER BREAKFAST | BARREL AGED OATMEAL STOUT

Our Oatmeal Stout takes advantage of the silkiness oats provide for a beer. Layered between roasted and chocolate malts, this full-bodied, full-flavored stout is pitch black with a tan head. Earthy English hops round out the sweetness and create a dark concoction to be enjoyed day or night

  • LAZARUS | BOURBON BARREL AGED ABBEY QUAD

Brewed in celebration of our second anniversary, Lazarus Abbey Quadrupel was then stored for months in bourbon barrels before being bottled and adorned with a golden wax top.

  • MISSISSIPPI FIRE ANT | BOURBON BARREL AGED IMPERIAL RED ALE

This imperial red ale has a huge malt presence only to be out shined by its hop additions. Dark mahogany red with a nice fluffy head, Fire Ant showcases roasted and toasted caramel notes layered between spicy, herbal and fruity hops.

  • RAGANA | BOURBON BARREL AGED BALTIC PORTER

Baltic Porters were originally brewed for the long trip from England to the Baltic region. Răgana (Lithuanian for witch) is deep, dark and full of complex flavors. Full bodied with chocolate, coffee and a slight smokiness, English hops round out this wicked ale, adding a clean finish thanks to a colder fermentation.

  • SLEEPER AGENT | BOURBON BARREL AGED RUSSIAN IMPERIAL STOUT

Sleeper Agent is a Russian Imperial Stout currently undercover in Willett bourbon barrels. Don't sleep on this.

  • THE UNNAMED | BOURBON BARREL AGED DARK AMERICAN STRONG ALE

What should we call this? What is it? An American Strong Ale? Whatever it is, the bourbon barrels it lived in got along perfectly with it. This aged ale is rich in malt flavors paired with boozy vanilla, oak and cola. Drink it or lay it down.
  • REMIX | OAK BARREL FERMENTED IGNITION dry-hopped golden ale with nelson sauvin

Ignition is the backbone behind many of the releases of the Wild & Wood series. It is a zero IBU golden ale fermented with our house American yeast strain. Typically, after primary fermentation, Ignition is thrown into oak barrels for conditioning and refermentation with a variety of wild yeasts, bacteria, fruit, or hops. It all depends on where our minds take us, batch to batch. This beer is the REMIX to Ignition. Ignition underwent primary fermentation in clean, neutral oak barrels-as opposed to stainless steel fermentation-and took a dry-hop dose of New Zealand's Nelson Sauvin. 5.5% ABV
  • MAENAD | AMERICAN WILD ALE AGED ON PEACHES

Maenad is a blend of three oak aged ales refermented with peaches. Blend 1: 9 month oak aged Saison refermented in stainless with Brettanomyces bruxellensis and two pounds of peaches per gallon. Blend 2: 12 month oak aged mixed fermentation Golden Ale. Blend 3: 8 month oak aged Saison refermented with Brettanomyces bruxellensis. 7.9% ABV
  • THE RECKONING | AMERICAN SOUR

A mixed fermentation American Sour Ale. This beer is a blend of 4 different ales aged on oak for 8-12 months. It creates a nice assertive tartness in front of funky and fruity flavors. 8.4% ABV
  • USURPER | BRETT ALE WITH BLOOD ORANGE AND SATSUMAS

A Golden Ale conditioned on 2 pounds per gallon of Louisiana Satsumas, then refermented in stainless steel via Brettanomyces claussenii and 2 pounds per gallon of Blood Oranges. 6.0% ABV
  • CLANDESTINE CUVEE | AMERICAN WILD ALE

Oak aged Saison refermented with Brettanomyces claussenii. Four premium barrels, selected and blended by our head brewer. 8.4% ABV
  • LEFTOVER LIMES | FLEMISH SAISON

A Saison fermented in oak barrels with a Flemish Brettanomyces strain, and then SoPro dumped as many limes as they could peel along with the zest inside one barrel of it. After fermentation, they blended and kegged this wild ale. 8.4% ABV
